Stations are planning upgrades, engineers are testing new workflows, and the whole industry starts preparing for one of the biggest gatherings of the year — the NAB Show.
At iMedia, we’ve had an exciting start to the year. Our team has been busy supporting stations across North America and beyond, and it’s always rewarding to see our solutions running reliably day after day in real broadcast environments.
One installation that made us particularly proud this month was the deployment of iMediaCam at Bronc Radio. Seeing how broadcasters are embracing visual radio and studio cameras reminds us how quickly our industry continues to evolve.
March also brings the famous Ides of March — historically a day that reminded leaders to stay alert. In broadcasting, the lesson still applies: technology must be dependable, resilient, and ready when it matters most.
That’s exactly what we strive to deliver every day.

How do you Do That?
Automatically Download the Right Show — Every Time
Managing syndicated shows can sometimes feel like chasing files around an FTP server.
Many program providers deliver files that all have the same name, with the date embedded in the filename to identify the correct episode. That works well… until someone downloads the wrong file.
That’s exactly where the Date-Based FTP Download feature in iMediaImport comes in.
With this feature, iMediaImport can automatically scan an FTP folder and identify the correct show file based on the date in the filename, ensuring the right episode gets imported into your automation system.
The best part? Once configured, the entire process runs automatically week after week.
How It Works
Here’s the idea:
Instead of manually selecting files, iMediaImport looks at the date embedded in the filename and automatically chooses the file that matches the current broadcast schedule.
For example, imagine your provider uploads files like this:
UNSH_UNS1_08-10-25.mp3
UNSH_UNS1_08-17-25.mp3
Each file has the same base name — only the date changes.
iMediaImport simply scans the filename, reads the date, and automatically imports the file closest to the current broadcast date.
No more guessing.
No more manual downloads.
Set It and Forget It
The configuration is simple:
1️⃣ Create your FTP site in iMediaImport
2️⃣ Schedule when the system should check for new files
3️⃣ Tell iMediaImport where the date appears in the filename
4️⃣ Select “Choose file closest to current date”
That’s it.
From then on, iMediaImport will automatically download the correct show and place it directly into the specified category and cart ID, ready for scheduling in your log.
A Small Feature That Saves a Lot of Time

regularly updated segments

🎥 iMediaCam Debuts at Award-Winning Bronc Radio
We’re proud to announce a new milestone for iMediaCam with its successful installation at Bronc Radio.
Bronc Radio, the award-winning student radio station at Rider University, is widely recognized for its excellence in collegiate broadcasting and for preparing the next generation of media professionals.
With this deployment, Bronc Radio becomes the first university radio station to implement iMediaCam, bringing automated studio cameras and visual radio capabilities into their live broadcast environment.
The system allows the station to seamlessly combine radio production with professional video streaming, enabling shows to reach audiences across multiple platforms while keeping the workflow simple for hosts and engineers. In a month, students have recorded over 68 shows and have seen a major increase in subscribers and viewers.
For a station known for innovation and hands-on learning, iMediaCam provides students with experience using the kind of modern broadcast technology they will encounter in professional studios.
